ShowMio™ ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our mobile application ("the App").
We may collect the following types of personal information when you use the App: - Your name and email address (if you choose to provide them) - We recommend you do not provide us with personally identifiable information (PII) or confidential data. This information is not necessary nor expected for the operation of ShowMio and our systems are designed with this in mind. - Device information such as your device model, operating system, and unique device identifier
We collect your IP address as part of standard web and app server logging. We may derive an approximate city-level location from your IP address for purposes of service analytics and personalisation. We do not collect precise GPS or device location data. IP-derived location is not linked to your personal profile.
We may also collect information about how you use the App, such as: - The features and content you access within the App - The actions you take within the App - Your interactions with push notifications or in-app messages
When you use ShowMio's chat features, the messages you send are transmitted to our servers for processing by our AI systems. This includes questions, responses, and the content of your conversations. Chat messages are associated with your account and retained to provide continuity of service. We do not sell or share your conversational data with third parties for advertising purposes.
ShowMio offers voice input (speech-to-text) and text-to-speech features.
Mobile app (iOS and Android): Voice input and text-to-speech are processed entirely on your device using your device's built-in capabilities. No audio recordings are transmitted to our servers.
Web app: Voice input and text-to-speech on the web platform are processed server-side. Audio may be transmitted to our servers or third-party speech processing services to perform transcription and synthesis. We do not retain audio recordings beyond the duration required to complete the transcription or synthesis.
To use voice features, the app will request permission to access your device's microphone. You may deny this permission, in which case voice features will be unavailable.
We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymised usage data, including app launches, feature interactions, and session information. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve our service. We also use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information when the app encounters an error. Analytics and crash data are not linked to your name or email address.
We may use the information we collect for the following purposes: - To provide, maintain, and improve the App - To personalize your experience and deliver content that may be of interest to you - To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support - To detect, prevent, and address technical issues - To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, accidental loss, alteration, or disclosure. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use Clerk (clerk.com) to manage user authentication. Clerk processes your email address and authentication credentials on our behalf. You may also choose to sign in using Google OAuth or Sign in with Apple, in which case your authentication is handled by Google or Apple respectively. We receive only the information necessary to create and maintain your account (typically your name and email address). We do not receive your Google or Apple passwords.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States of America where our servers are located. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers and processing as described in this Privacy Policy.
Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App.
This Privacy Policy and our data processing activities are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from this Privacy Policy or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in the United Kingdom, in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the the United Kingdom for the time being in force, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference in this clause. The arbitration shall be conducted by one (1) arbitrator to be appointed. The language of the arbitration shall be English.
